Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 at the Central Regional Middle School in Bayville, NJ. The drill will start around 8:00 AM and end about 12:00 PM. Both served on-site, breakfast will be provided by the Salvation Army and lunch will be provided by the two(2) participating hospitals. ShopRite has also generously donated cases of water for all of those participating.
Unlike OPERATION PASS THROUGH from last year, this year's drill will be slightly different and more complex. The two(2) participating hospitals will be transporting "victims" to their respective hospitals to perform their own drills and there will be a lot of vehicle movement going on for this drill so it will be a learning experience for all. Please be aware and cautious of this fact on the drill day.
Like last year's drill, many different local and county agencies will be participating in this year's drill so there will be a lot of people and emergency response vehicles on-site. These agencies include HazMat, Fire, EMS, Police, OEM, hospitals, and others. If you would like to spectate the drill, we only ask that you stay clear of the areas where the drill will be taking place.
Station 85 members are asked to meet at our building around 7-7:30 AM for final preparations before departing to the Middle School. If anyone has any questions, comments, and/or concerns about the drill, how it is to be run, etc., please feel free to contact us and we will reply as soon as possible. Use our "Contact" page for contact information.
For those unsure of where the Middle School is located, following is a map and directions. Note: The Middle School is located next to the High School, which is on its left, and almost directly across from the Exit 77 Parkway Entrance; it is on the same road as our HazMat building and Station 20's firehouse, but the name changes from Pinewald-Keswick Road to Forest Hills Parkway.
